Flat Earth and Religion

Religion basically offers transformative experiences to deal with the human problem of "sin". Sin is the conflict between the reality of human behavior and motivations, and the "higher" spiritual knowledge and sentiments. Religion does many things, but this is the spiritual, that is religion.

FE is full of religious sentiments and thoughts in regard to the shape of the earth.

The biggest reason I think this is so, is because atheist physicalism has been on the constant drum beat that we live in a meaningless cold universe.

All of a sudden, the belief that the earth is a flat shape, and not an expanding universe caused by the accidental big bang without any meaning or purpose, acts as a (weak) antidote in people's minds, toward atheist physicalism.

Then people attach their cultural religious tradition on to the shape of the earth (flat). Many Flat Earthers, may not say they're Christians, but that is their cultural religious construct that they know. And so, they use what they know and then attribute the shape of the Earth to the cause of their newfound religious or "spiritual" beliefs.

If flat earth is a simple fact, there is nothing about that fact which tells you what you ought to value or do. FE itself doesn't even tell you that the world is good or even real! The Truman Show is not an ideal place, Truman decides to leave the dome!
