No faulting your presentation skills. This is well thought out and makes sense. However, I'm afraid your mistake is to still be thinking in angles in a 2D scenario. Using Google "Sketchup" I created a 3D Model of the Sun over Gleason's 1892 New Standard Map of the World during Summer, Equinox and Winter. Each Sun represents a single 24hr day during that respective season - repeated.

Taken on 12/16/15, @fl360, Mag HDG 239, GS 354 kts, 40° North. 45 second time lapse taken at 15 fps on a Samsung Note 4. The sun had set on the ground and was only visible after passing through 3,000' MSL during the climb out.

I recall "sunset chasing" over the eastern shore of Lake Michigan in a Cessna 152 during flight training. After climbing and descending 4-5 times to observe a new "sunset" I finally ran out of meaningful climb rate around 10,000'. The flat earthers can't explain this away with vanishing point arguments. Only a spherical earth explains the sunset chasing phenomenon.

If the earth were flat, and the Sun orbiting a 'flat' plane, what would explain the much longer sunset near the winter solstice as opposed to the summer solstice? What explains the "two sunsets" observed? Given the ground speed, altitude and latitude, is the only rational geometrical/mathematical explanation for this visual observation a spherical earth? Any mathematicians want to tackle the geometry problem for determining the visual speed of the sun set? Also, what rational flat earth explanation is there for the sun's movement from left to right given the constant heading.

What explains the contrails, both beneath our FL appearing to rise above our flight path and then arc below it? The several aircraft observed were all level (not changing flight level). This was confirmed using real time ADS-B traffic data. What explains the curved shadow of approaching night fall?

In microgravity, what force causes liquids to coalesce into nearly perfect spherical shapes?

Lastly, for the chemtrail believers, why would the 4 or 5 visible contrails be appearing and disappearing at random intervals? Why do the visible contrails all appear to be arc'd?
