Dany Boon a commencé à écrire le scénario de Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis en 2006, mais l’idée d’un film sur sa région d’origine remonte à bien longtemps. Il avait toujours voulu se lancer dans la réalisation mais ne savait pas s’il en était capable. Il a d’abord mis en scène la pièce La Vie de chantier puis l’a adaptée en réalisant son premier film, La Maison du bonheur, sorti en 2006, avant de s’attaquer à un sujet qui lui tenait plus particulièrement à cœur33,34. Dany Boon est parti du constat que de nombreuses comédies françaises ont pour cadre le sud de la France (comme Brice de Nice, Taxi ou les films de Marcel Pagnol), alors que le nord sert souvent de cadre à des films dramatiques (comme Germinal ou Ça commence aujourd'hui)35. Il est donc parti de l’idée que se font les gens qui ne connaissent pas le Nord-Pas-de-Calais, afin de tourner en dérision les clichés et les visions misérabilistes sur la région.

Born Claude Berel Langmann in Paris, Berri was the son of Jewish immigrant parents[1] His mother Beila (née Bercu) was from Romania and his father Hirsch Langmann, was a furrier from Poland.

Train of Life (in French Train de Vie, in Romanian Trenul vieţii) is a tragicomedy film by France, Belgium, Netherlands, Israel and Romania made in 1998 in the French language. It tells the story of an eastern European Jewish village's plan to escape the Holocaust.

Fils d'un journaliste juif1, Radu Mihaileanu quitte la Roumanie en 1980 durant la dictature de Ceaușescu pour se réfugier en Israël, puis en France où il étudie le cinéma à l'Idhec (ancien nom de la Fémis). Après ses études, il exerce le métier d'assistant réalisateur durant les années 1980, notamment auprès de Marco Ferreri avec qui il collabore ensuite à l'adaptation du dialogue de Platon pour le téléfilm Le Banquet en 1989.

Il a publié un recueil de poèmes en 1987, intitulé Une vague en mal de mer.

En 1993 sort Trahir, son premier long métrage en tant que réalisateur, dont il coécrit le scénario. Le film bénéficie d'un bon accueil critique et obtient plusieurs prix dans des festivals (Montréal, Istanbul…). Après la réalisation d'un premier téléfilm en 1997 pour M6 (Bonjour Antoine), Radu Mihaileanu signe son deuxième long métrage, Train de vie. Le film obtient un succès international, notamment grâce à deux prix gagnés durant le Festival de Venise en 1998.

Die Abenteuer des blitzschnellen Asterix (Clovis Cornillac) und seines zaubertrankgestärkten Gefährten Obelix (Gérard Depardieu) führen diesmal ins ferne Griechenland. Dort wollen sie dem jungen und wagemutigen Gallier Romantix (Stéphane Rousseau) helfen, die Olympischen Spiele und gleichzeitig das Herz der wunderschönen griechischen Prinzessin Irina (Vanessa Hessler) zu gewinnen. Wäre da nur nicht der tückische Brutus (Benoît Poelvoorde), der alles daran setzt, die Olympiade zu beherrschen und außerdem seinen Vater Julius Caesar (Alain Delon) aus dem Weg zu räumen.

Der Film war der einzige DDR-Film mit zentral schwuler Thematik.
Coming Out konnte dank des Einsatzes von Heiner Carow entstehen, der sich in der DEFA sieben Jahre lang um die Durchsetzung des Projekts bemühte.[2]
Der Film wurde am 9. November 1989 im Ostberliner Kino International uraufgeführt; wegen des großen Besucheransturms in einer Doppelvorstellung. Unmittelbar nach den beiden Vorführungen um 19:30 Uhr und 22:00 Uhr wurde das Premierenpublikum Zeuge des Mauerfalls. Die Premierenfeier fand in der Berliner Gaststätte Zum Burgfrieden [3] statt, einem der Drehorte und gelegen in unmittelbarer Nähe der Bornholmer Straße, wo an diesem Abend ein erster Grenzübergang für die Ostberliner geöffnet wurde.

Mein Sohn, der Herr Minister ist eine 1937 gedrehte, satirische Filmkomödie über den Parlamentarismus in der Demokratie mit NS-politisch gefärbter Tendenz. Regie führte Veit Harlan.

Mein Sohn, der Herr Minister zählt zu den über 40 stark propagandistischen Filmen nationalsozialistischer Produktion, die heute als Vorbehaltsfilm eingestuft werden und deren öffentliche Aufführung daher Einschränkungen unterliegt.

Als Vorbehaltsfilme bezeichnet die Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung Propagandafilme aus der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus aus ihrem Filmbestand, deren Inhalt kriegsverherrlichend, rassistisch oder volksverhetzend ist und die deshalb auf Beschluss des Stiftungs-Kuratoriums nicht für den Vertrieb freigegeben werden. Vorbehaltsfilme können nur mit Zustimmung und unter den Bedingungen der Stiftung gezeigt werden. Diese verlangt in jedem Fall eine historische Einführung und eine Diskussion mit fachkundigem Leiter. Für wissenschaftliche Zwecke ist eine Sichtung der Filme in den Räumen der Stiftung möglich.[1]

Bei Propagandafilmen wie Heimkehr, Der ewige Jude, Hans Westmar, die nicht zum Rechtebestand der Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung gehören, bleibt es innerhalb des gesetzlichen Rahmens den Rechte- bzw. Materialinhabern vorbehalten, für einen verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit den Filmen zu sorgen.

Der gewöhnliche Faschismus (russ. Originaltitel: Обыкновенный фашизм Obyknowenny Faschism) ist ein sowjetischer Dokumentarfilm von Michail Romm aus dem Jahre 1965.

Romm stellt die Frage, wie es zum Hitlerfaschismus kommen konnte. In sechzehn Kapiteln sucht Romm nach Antworten auf seine Frage, was Menschen dazu bringt, den Faschismus zu bejahen und sogar zum Mörder zu werden.

Triumph Over Violence (Russian: Obyknovennyy fashizm, Обыкновенный фашизм — ″Common fascism″) is a 1965 Soviet film directed by Mikhail Romm. The film is also known as Echo of the Jackboot in the United Kingdom and Trumps Over Violence in the USA. It is mainly in the form of annotated excerpts of archival film in order to describe the rise and fall of fascism, and especially the example of Nazi Germany.

The documentary follows the style of Mikhail Romm wrought by the Soviet filmmaker Esfir Shub, a pioneer in the use and development of compilation film, which involves the creation of unpublished works (mainly documentary) from an assembly made by another pre-existing film material.

Esfir Shub, used for material for her pioneering documentary films, public newsreels aging to the days of Czar. The result of the compilation was The Fall of the Romanov Dynasty (Падение династии Романовых, Padenie dinastii Romanovykh), a film obtained only from the recycling of pre-existing material, in which the filmmaker, shows the decline of the Czar and the message of the need for revolution. Following the footsteps of Shub, Mikhail Romm used material belonging to German archives, archives of post-war antifascist organizations, photo archives and military archives seized from the German military to make the documentary Triumph Over Violence.

This version also has the original movie trailer at the beginning. The trailer is not translated to English, but the movie itself is captioned/translated into English.

Songs at the beginning and end of the movie were sung by Kirsten Heiberg, one of the stars of the movie and who was very popular in Germany during the war.

Titanic makes the allegory of the liner's loss specifically about British avarice rather than, as most Titanic retellings do, about general human arrogance and presumption. This fit in with other works of anti-British propaganda of the time such as My life for Ireland and Der Fuchs von Glenarvon; however, the scenes of British and French panic and desperation undermined this effect, while scenes of steerage passengers separated by crew members and desperately searching for their loved ones through locked gates and a chain link fence bore an uncanny resemblance to what was happening in German concentration camps during that time, contributing to its ban by Goebbels.

The film was shot on board the SS Cap Arcona, a passenger cruise ship which itself was sunk a few days before the end of World War II by the Royal Air Force on May 3, 1945, with loss of life far heavier than that on the actual Titanic. The scenes with the lifeboats were filmed on the Baltic Sea and some of the interior scenes were shot in Tobis Studios.

Titanic was the most expensive German production up until that time and endured many production difficulties, including a clash of egos, massive creative differences and general war-time frustrations. After one week of troubled shooting on the Cap Arcona, Herbert Selpin called a crisis meeting where he made unflattering comments about the Kriegsmarine officers, who were more concerned with molesting the female cast members rather than doing their job as marine consultants of the film. His close friend and co-writer of the script, Walter Zerlett-Olfenius, reported him to the Gestapo and Selpin was promptly arrested and personally questioned by Joseph Goebbels, who was the driving force behind the Titanic project. Within twenty-four hours of his arrest, Herbert Selpin was found hanged in his jail cell, which was ruled a suicide. The cast and crew were angry and attempted to retaliate, but were quickly silenced with fear for their own safety. The unfinished film, the production of which spiraled wildly out control, was in the end completed by Werner Klingler.

The premiere was supposed to be in early 1943, but the theatre that housed the answer print was bombed the night before the big event. The film went on to have a lacklustre premiere in Paris around Christmas of that same year, but in the end, Goebbels banned it altogether, stating that the German people, at that point going through almost nightly Allied bombing raids, were less than enthusiastic about seeing a film that portrayed mass death and panic.

Titanic was re-discovered in 1949, but was quickly banned in most western countries. After the fifties, the film went back into obscurity, sometimes showing on German television. But in 1992, a censored, low quality VHS copy, was released in Germany. This version deleted the strongest propaganda scenes, which immensely watered down its controversial content. Finally, in 2005, Titanic was completely restored and, for the first time, the uncensored version was released in a special edition DVD by Kino Video.

The issue of capitalism and the stock market plays a dominant role throughout the movie. The hero of the film is fictional German First Officer Herr Petersen (played by Hans Nielsen) on the ill-fated voyage of the British ocean liner RMS Titanic in 1912. He begs the ship's rich and snobbish owners to slow down the ship's speed, but they refuse and the Titanic hits an iceberg and sinks. The passengers in first class are shown to be sleazy cowards while Petersen, his lover Sigrid Olinsky (Sybille Schmitz), and other German passengers in steerage are shown as brave and kind. Peterson manages to rescue many passengers, convince Sigrid to get into a lifeboat (in a scene which was famously echoed in the 1997 film) and saves a young girl, who was obviously left to die in her cabin by an uncaring, callous British capitalist mother. The film ends with the British Inquiry into the disaster, where Peterson testifies against Bruce Ismay, condemning his actions, but Ismay is cleared of all charges and the blame is placed squarely on the deceased Captain Smith's shoulders. The epilogue states that "the deaths of 1,500 people remains un-atoned, forever a testament of Britain's endless quest for profit."

The Song of the Sun (Italian: La canzone del sole) is a 1933 Italian-German film directed by Max Neufeld and starring Vittorio De Sica.[1]

1933, nach der Machtübernahme der Nationalsozialisten in Deutschland, musste Max Neufeld Berlin wegen seiner jüdischen Herkunft verlassen und wurde für die nächsten Jahre zum Europareisenden mit Inszenierungen in Wien, Paris, Rom und Madrid. Ein 1936 gestelltes Ansuchen an die Reichsfilmkammer in Berlin zur Erteilung einer Sondererlaubnis zum weiteren Filmschaffen in Deutschland wurde ebenso abgelehnt wie die Einfuhr von Produktionen an denen Max Neufeld mitwirkte. Obwohl auch in Österreich seit 1936 keine Juden mehr beim Film beschäftigt werden durften, blieb er bis zum endgültigen „Anschluss“ Österreichs an Deutschland in Wien. Dann flüchtete er nach Rom, wo er bis 1941 Filme inszenierte, danach arbeitete er in Spanien.
