American prejudice against the USSR and Stalin especially is based upon Nazi propaganda such as the Ukraine genocide myth and the Katyn forest massacre. The chief falsification concerns the three Moscow trials and the excessively abusive purges of the mid-1930's. The Nazis dismissed these trials as show trials with predetermined outcomes. This opinion was also adopted by the Trotskyites and the American and British press without hearing the Soviet point of view. This has been the western opinion ever since. It would seem the only thing predetermined here is the western prejudice which consistently blames the Russians. The three Moscow trials themselves consisted of confessions by prominent and famous Soviet leaders about their involvement in a Nazi conspiracy that also involved backing of western businessmen to overthrow the Soviet government and install Soviet General Tukachevsky as its puppet ruler. These Soviet leaders who partook in the conspiracy constituted a Nazi fifth column behind Soviet lines who were to assist the German invasion. In other words, if the Soviets had not discovered and eliminated these traitors at the trials, then Nazism would very possibly have conquered Russia in World War II due to their assistance. The trials progressively revealed more about the conspiracy with the third trial laying it bare. Trotsky directed an international network in collusion with the German government which was trying to honeycomb the Soviet Union. As to the vast purges and associated abuses, this was real. The worst of this abuse of police power occurred around 1938 under Yezhov, and it turned out that Yezhov was a Nazi agent.
Western propaganda since Khruhschev blames Lavrenti Beria for all this painting him as Stalin's evil enforcer, but that is the inverse of the truth. The purges came to a hault precisely when Stalin replaced Yezhov with Beria in 1938. Beria released the innocent people from jails in 1938 and is the one who saved the Soviet Union from its Nazi induced police terror.
Confirmation of this comes from non-communist western scholars who have studied the archives which Gorbachev opened. One of these is the american scholar John Archibald Getty who released a book in 1985 that exonerated Beria and Stalin as I have succinctly stated above.

I just got 'The Great Conspiracy' by Khan, and the book is better than the movie. The bibliography at the end is to die for. They couldn't make up fiction this good.

In spite of a (perhaps obligatory) solitary condescending one liner about the USSR at the very end of the movie and a conclusion portraying the U.S. as a really fair country, Edward G. One of several good books from the late 1930's and 1940's about Nazi fifth columns in the United States, 'Secret Armies' by John Spivak differs from most in that it demonstrates that a military overthrow of the U.S. government as well as overt Nazism were not the chief objectives intended for the Nazis fifth column, but to honeycomb the country with essentially fascist ideology and policies in an unrecognizable american style. 'Hitler Over Europe' by Ernst Henri was published in the mid-1930s and gives a wealth information of Nazi underground fifth column operations in Western European countries including Spain, France, Britain, Norway, etc before those fifth columns became the actual governments of many of those countries during WWII. The press and radio was one of the targets of the network of Nazi agents working to convert america to fascism which resulted in considerable views sympathetic to fascism in the American press and radio which actually bemoaned the Nazi losses as they were on the run from the Soviets after 1942. 'Hitler Over Europe' By Ernst Henri (1934) Book Review electrodes.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/hitler_over_europe__1934_ernst_henri.pdf Ernst Henri was apparently a western pseudonym for the Soviet writer Semyon Rostovsky who wrote 'Hitler Over Russia' about 1936. I have read that Stalin read and thereby benefitted from the accurate analyses in these books. Rostovsky continued writing after the war such as his 1960 book on the German General Staff's renewed plan of conquest of the Soviet Union. This book consists of two parts. First, it analyzes Nazism, its power base, and the sections of the German population. It emphasizes in detail that Hitler is the puppet of Fritz Thyssen like no other book I have seen. For example, the statement that it was not for nothing that Hitler visited Thyssen's home one day prior to the blitz on the Rohm, the S.A., and the lower middle class. It gives the background of Thyssen and the financial class as most sources pass over this. Its marvelous analysis of the classes in Germany - how the SS is drawn strictly from the upper middle class, etc makes one think of affairs and parallels in one's own country today. Outstanding. I'm just getting to the second part which is more international, but I discovered this book by way of Albert Kahn's 1946 book 'The Great Conspiracy Against Russia' which states that this book gives a breakdown of Nazi fifth column forces in every country in Europe which were established in the 1930's and were a vital part of Germany's conquest of those countries in the late 1930's and early 1940's. |

The American aspect brings to my mind the American Confederacy's subjugation of black people which the U.S. government only opposed as long as it did not control the south. Once Wall Street acquired economic control of the American South during reconstruction, they handed the slaves back into the hands of the planters who became Wall Street's puppets after the war whereas they had largely been its enemies beforehand. This was repeated with West Germany several decades later which continued Hitler's policies with American backing. |
