Many famous flat earth YouTubers are saying that flat earth is on the rise. Let's verify if it is true, at least with the limited tools that we have. Related thread here: fsr.boards.net/thread/91/flat-earth-youtube-statisticsEvery once in a while, I will do a search, to see a statistical evolution of the "flat earth" hits of this search, and in the meanwhile I will also post here some of these new videos I came across. These are the exact parameters of my search on YouTube: www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%22flat+earth%22&filters=today%2Cvideo&lclk=video 1) I will request results matching exactly the string "flat earth". 2) I will exclude anything that is not a "video" (no playlists, etcetera). 3) I will only ask for results for "today". In other words, I will precisely click the link above, every time. I will then report the number of results I get each time, and I will post those new videos that caught my attention. It is impossible to say that I will post the "best videos", because I can't possibly watch dozens of videos each time. Beware that "today" means the last 24 hours, and not just the few hours of let's say Wednesday at the time on Wednesday you do your search. Of course, both YouTube and Facebook have very little scientific features (and now increasingly Microsoft, too), so I'll be happy with this misleading terminology. ------- These "flat earth" periodical searches were later integrated by adding a comparison of their hits with all the other conspiracy theory hits, as explained here: fsr.boards.net/post/1285/threadTime to make a small comparison with other searches. Well, we are now very far from the situation that Mark Sargent has experienced and made him say with excitement that now there's new videos every day. The situation now seems to be that there's some new videos every day, that you can't even go through their titles. 321 hitsWow, I can't really say this is in line with my expectations and, no matter what caused this increase, it is a symptom (also considering the gradual increase of the last few days) that, most likely: 1) in the weekend more flat earth videos are uploaded on YouTube 2) the "flat earth" string search (and flat earth as a subject) is really on the rise This bodes well for the future of this abandoned forum. Sooner or later someone is bound to visit it and register for it. When I started this statistical experiment we were at 30 hits per day, but, given that the hits have increased tenfold, now I can't possibly skim through 321 videos, I will just post here the first interesting video I come across, and quit this immense and impossible feat. Here's the video I selected: Flat EarthVarious Artists - Topic This also tells me something about the future. No flat earther can possibly keep up with the immense number of flat earth videos that are being uploaded on YouTube. I am not saying they can't watch them all: I am saying they can't even read all of their titles! Another prediction I make is that Eric Dubay's and everyone else's importance will decrease, as the number of flat earth YouTubers will increase. Actually I don't know if I can predict that this forum will gain users, because there will also be an increase in forums. Also, I don't know if gaining users is good or bad at this point, given how rude most flat earthers are. Rude and mentally unhealthy. But, if they increase, they will also change in nature, because it is a different statistical sample.

473The incredible rise in the hits returned by the "flat earth" string search (with the fixed parameters explained in the first post of this thread) continues, exponentially. I have witnessed on this thread a rapid but gradual rise from 29 daily hits to 473 hits. I will see if it keeps rising at this speed or even if it keeps rising at all, because it seems very odd. If it keeps going like this, "flat earth" will soon surpass "false flag", although I have noticed that they have all been rising. It is as if the absolute number of people uploading videos on You>Tube were constantly increasing, and it is probably the case. Although this should curb our enthusiasm for the "flat earth" string rise on YouTube, I can confirm that it is rising faster than the other strings. But comparing "flat earth" to the other conspiracy strings was a good idea, because this is the only way to see if it is really rising (and not just the YouTube general uplaods are rising). As the hits increase, I become less and less able to analyze the videos uploaded in the last 24 hours. Being once again unable to even look at all their titles, I will just post one or more videos that caught my attention. 557 hits"flat earth" has risen in hits again, but I've learned to look at the other conspiracy strings, and all the other conspiratorial subjects ( see list here) have risen on average by about 25% (compared to the last time I searched for them), whereas "flat earth" has risen by 38%. We will see if "flat earth" will ever pass "false flag", which right now is at twice as many hits. Today, of the daily selection (the videos uploaded in the last 24 hours), I will post a video by Dan Bidondi, who works for Alex Jones, and, surprisingly for me, he addresses the flat earth subject: IS THE EARTH FLAT OR ROUND?TruthRadioShow He even posted it on his Facebook page: www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1752198078340815&id=1476975025863123He talks quite a bit about the curvature of the earth, starting at minute 2, saying that it is a proven fact. At minute 3, he shows great ignorance about our theory, by looking at an unknown flat earth map, that nobody ever used. He starts off by saying he has questions, but pretty soon it becomes apparent that he wants to say that he is not convinced at all and, even before learning about it, he wants to tell us right away all the things that don't make sense to him (because he didn't study the subject). Other than that, he has a pretty open-minded attitude. Speaking of statistics, he has 5,000 subscribers on his TruthRadioShow channel.

Starting today I will also monitor how many videos have been uploaded on YouTube in the last 24 hours, by using this string (I removed the terms from the search string): www.youtube.com/results?search_query=today%2Cvideo&lclk=videoThis is today's chart. The total of 22,367 is nothing compared to the 36,000,000 videos uploaded. It is 0.06%. Here's the pie chart for right now, out of the strings I searched:  I will need to monitor all these data, in order to assess: 1) if "flat earth" videos are rising compared to the other conspiracy theories 2) if all conspiracy theories videos are rising relative to the overall number of videos (in the last 24 hours) The fact that daily videos are rising is only normal when we consider that the population is rising and that their access to the internet is rising. |

711 hitsFlat earth is still on the rise on YouTube, with total videos uploaded in the last 24 hours constant, and the monitored conspiracy strings also on the rise, in my statistics updated 5 minutes ago:  Forget about recommending one of these videos, because I can't possibly dream of skimming through 711 flat earth videos.

912 hitsDay after day, the rise of "flat earth" on YouTube seems unstoppable. All conspiracy strings are rising (as compared to the total number of videos uploaded in the last 24 hours), but "flat earth" rises more:  It rose thirtyfold in these 10 days I have been monitoring it, going from 30 to 900. I don't see how this exponential rise won't stop, because if it rises this fast for another 10 days, it will reach 30,000 videos per day at the end of such period. So, I predict that it will slow down.

1,060 hits Something might be going on with MK ULTRA, as it's had a huge rise in the last few days. I am too tired to check and not interested right now. This, and the changes in subscribers can be a good indicator of where things move. The trend has continued in the last 24 hours. Conspiracy search strings increase relative to all videos uploaded, and "flat earth" increases relative to the other conspiracy search strings. As I said before, I can't even scan through the latest videos uploaded, as I had set out to do at the start of this survey.

1,250 hits"flat earth" keeps increasing relative to the other strings, and all conspiracy strings keep increasing relative to the total uploaded videos:  There was also the usual increase in "MK ULTRA".

Either they have been feeding me the wrong data for a whole week (see previous posts), with numbers that spoke of hundreds of hits per day, or they are feeding me now the wrong information, although this number of videos seems more realistic to me. I certainly did not make any mistakes, as not only the "flat earth" string, but also the other conspiracy strings were growing just as fast. Well, now we are back to the regular 30 something hits per day. I wonder which one is true value. Maybe they were told by someone that these videos were getting too popular and to hide some of them. They can do anything want and we will never even notice. I noticed that there was a sharp change, but I don't know why, and which information is correct. Also, however, I must mention, that I tried going and seeing those hundreds of videos, page by page, and it stopped at page 3. So maybe the right amount is really 38 and not, as yesterday, 1,250. The ratio among the conspiracy strings is constant, as I said, so there is no noticeable change in pie chart. But there is a huge change in the ratio those strings to all videos uploaded in the last 24 hours.

36 hitsAfter observing this for one month, I can safely say what follows: 1) the total videos uploaded on YouTube are unreliable, in that it goes from 30 millions to 20 millions depending on the time of the day you check it. However, we can assume that it is indeed in that range of 20 to 30 millions per day. But it is not reliable other than that. So forget about matching flat earth searches with it, because those have a level of detail that usually can be relied on, and is much more precise. So from now on those comparisons are not reliable. 2) the flat earth videos have been fluctuating mostly from 30 to 60 for the last month, and all values about 200 were totally unreliable, and I don't know why YouTube has given me such data for about one straight week. 3) the conspiracy theory strings are also stable, so that "flat earth" always has a 2% ratio to the other strings. Here's the latest data:  So, in this table above, forget the first week, because it is unreliable and probably false data.

89 hitsI went through the few pages of videos and there seems to be no bugs, so this would make today's number one of the highest numbers so far, the second best, if we exclude of course all that faulty flawed data from a month ago (late July / early August, right at the start of the table). Here's my updated table and chart (I highlighted in yellow the weekends, but there seems no noticeable weekday vs. weekend patterns):  Since weeks ago, when the daily hits were around 30, I am unable to check out all the videos, as I am overwhelmed by their number. I can't guarantee I'll even be able to keep a good updated top ten chart, given that I might not be aware of who are the big flat earth YouTubers anymore.

Wow, unlike on YouTube... I have found a place where there is a detectable growth of flat earth: Google.
