Just a question, how come we can see that the ship is apparently going over the horizon, yet the ship does not appear to be tilted, but actually appears level?
Even your cropped picture of the ship is level.

+orderoverchaos have you tried doing the math on it for yourself to see if it agrees with my observation? Math is a pure science. 1 + 1 always = 2 (despite what some will tell you). If the math agrees with the observation, then it must be correct. The calculations for how much should be hidden at that distance from that viewing height agree with what we see in my video (assuming a globe Earth 24,901 miles in circumference).

That could very well be curvature. But the boat doesn't look as though half of it is missing because of curvature.

From just my observation of what the video appears like to me, it looks
similar to how boats look after leaving the lower locks of a canal. In
this case, we know it would look like this because of elevation.

And that is what doesn't make sense to me.

The problem for me is that if half the boat is missing in height from
curvature, and we are able to visibly notice this, than I would imagine
we should visibly notice a tilt rather than a level ship, which even
lines up with a cropped picture of the same ship with the same level.

If the degree of curvature hides half the boat from our eyes, it seems
hard to believe I would not be able to observe any tilt at all.

+orderoverchaos I know some things are hard to imagine (such as just how big the Earth is in real terms) but again, I point out that you need to do the math to see if it fits.

The ship is 200 ft high. Half the ship is hidden, 100 ft. "Only" 100 ft.

I say "only" 100 feet because 100 ft on the scale of the Earth is nothing at all.

Remember that I said one degree of Earth curvature (only one degree) = 70 miles (111 km)

How many feet are there in 70 miles? 369,600 feet.

It is easy to keep expecting to see the curvature (again, because it is hard to imagine how big the Earth really is), but you need to remember the math...

1: The ship is "only" 16 miles away...

2: 16 miles = only 0.0006 of the Earth's circumference.

3: 100 feet is nothing compared to even 16 miles.

16 miles = 84,480 feet.

100 feet is only 0.001 of 16 miles.

The amount hidden (100 feet) is correct according to the mathematical calculations for a globe Earth 24,901 miles in circumference (7915.5 miles in diameter).

Like I said, math is a pure science. Our eyes may let us down, but math never does.
