Can you prove that anything matters? I'm listening....

+transtremm I can try to, but I'm in caffeine-withdrawal, so bear with me. :-) At a fundamental level, your observation of photons and electrons is what brings these particles into existence (established science - observer effect; also: interesting studies published in reputable journals in the past 10 years are quite fascinating and still support this interpretation), creating their path-histories in the moment of your observation. You are taking a probability that light might be found here, and manifesting light by your attention to it. You are creating the universe we live in. At a greater level, your actions are seen by those around you as a frame of reference for what is normal. You are creating the standards of behaviour for your society, in every action , in every choice. You determine what kind of world you live in, what kind of norms are accepted. Furthermore, in any act of creating new information, new complexity, you are transforming the universe and the potential for others who come after you. (Studies have shown that when new chemicals/viruses are synthesized, thereafter, they are easier to synthesize, by others, independently of any info-transfer.) And on a very basic level, people around you are struggling to live this often-challenging life. A small moment of kindness, support, encouragement, inspiration, or just being a model of what one can be, can make a difference in the lives of the sensitive people around you who will take what you offer and share it with others.
We are sacred beings, creating life and light, information and complexity, love and joy. I think when we have too little love, too little affection, maybe too little sex, too little to strive for, things can start to seem less meaningful. It's one of those annoying things where the more effort and attention you put toward it, the more engaged by it you are. So the more you work to build a life that has meaning, purpose, that matters, even though the work itself may be less fun than relaxing and indulging oneself in various pleasures, the sense of meaning, satisfaction, purpose, relevance, are all very much worth the effort. I don't think I proved it to you... maybe tomorrow when I'm back on coffee...

Proving something matters is about values. For there to something that
objectively or, cosmically, matters, we would need to find something to
ground the thing/s that matters(valued). In this case existence itself,
I suppose. What we call God, can do this, since he bestows meaning and
value by his inherent nature as God. God is also eternal etc. God
doesn't have to be the man in the sky either.

What is described above, has no grounding, except for yourself. The
standard can be anything, this doesn't tell us anything other than
morals are a social construct. Nothing is telling anyone what they
ought to do or value as there is no overarching moral principle/system
or standard here. Meaning, there is no reference or standard.

There's nothing here telling us, what it is, that makes something bad or
good. If you value the social construct of, 'good', than, do "good",
if not....what does it matter, all that matters is what you value.



What is it that makes something good or bad? What is the referenced
principle?

If we live in an artificial world that was built, as Mark seems say, what is the reference point for the real and natural?

What we once used to signify as natural systems, ordered balanced and harmonized by God, is now an artificially constructed world by humanoid dome builders!

Now our reference point for Nature/Natural has become an artificial construct itself!

But now, how do we judge between real and artificial, uh oh!

Mark, what is your reference point for what is natural and real, in which you are able to judge this supposedly built enclosed system, as artificial, when us peasants no longer have natural systems as our reference point, to make such judgements?

+orderoverchaos That's good! I'd be interested to hear this question answered too, especially as this movement has become so much like a religion recently with Mark as pope. I suspect it would probably get a "maybe" in response, then quickly on to the next question or another unsubstantiated idea.
